The Inspiration
I've always loved flowers. Who doesn't, right? But I haven't always loved painting them.
I find florals one of the more difficult subjects to paint. My brain has one idea but my hands have another. Every February I like to challenge myself to paint a floral collection, and every year I love them more and more.
This year, my own work inspired me. I had just finished a large abstract collection and I wanted to combine that with florals. The vision was bold flowers with expressive brush strokes and markings and splatters.

“I found I could say things with color and shapes that I couldn't say any other way - things I had no words for.”
- Georgia O'Keeffe
I created these paintings for those that need to be reminded of this: within this crazy life there is so much beauty trying to peek through. We just need to let ourselves see it.
I hope these paintings relate to the beautiful chaos in your own life.
